Question

two bodies have a mass ratio of 3:4.the force applied on the bigger mass produces an acceleration of 12 ms-2.what could be the acceleration of the other body,if the same forces acts on it

2 Answer

  • 9 ms-2

    because -

    F1=F2

    THEN

    ma=Ma

    3*12=4*a

    so

    acceleration =9ms-2

    • Acceleration of the other body = 16 m/s²

    Explanation:

    Given :

    • Mass of the first body = 3
    • Mass of the second body = 4
    • Force applied on the bigger mass produces an acceleration = 12 m/s²

    We know that,

    Force = Mass × Acceleration

    • F = m × a

    To find the Force, We have to take bigger mass,

    ⟹ F = 4 × 12

    ⟹ F = 48 N

    To find the acceleration of the other body,

    ⟹ F = m × a

    ⟹ a = F / m ( And smaller mass = 3 )

    ⟹ a = 48 / 3

    ⟹ a = 16 m/s²

    • Hence, Acceleration of the other body = 16 m/s²
